and I mean real dating not just flirting with people all the time

How exciting, Beatrice. Are you interested in someone?

Is it advice you're after? Specific advice?
no subject
I'd be okay with some advice
as long as you promise to be quiet about this
no subject
no subject
alright
well
how do you date
no subject
Well, that depends. Are you looking to date just anyone, or is there someone in particular you need advice for? If it's the latter, I need a bit of background to get it just right. How long you've known one another, how aware they may be of your feelings... Those sort of questions need answers.

I've known him for basically a year
yeah he knows despite his best efforts to stay completely oblivious
you remember Wirt?
no subject
no subject
that was a completely different situation it was just a friendship thing
no subject
For all I know, you may already be going on dates now. Is there anything the two of you enjoy doing together?
no subject
I make him go to movies with me and I think he likes pointing out all the stupid plot problems
but we did all that before the thing happened so it doesn't count
no subject
But you want something special, then?
no subject
[Wow Beatrice way to avoid answering the actual question, there.]
but yes I guess so
isn't that the whole point?
I don't know it's not like dating is something we really do at home
no subject
Anyway. The point of a date is to enjoy your time together. It needn't always be a big show. Remember that and you'll have a much easier time in the future. He's rather awkward, isn't he? No need to add more stress to it all.
If you'd like to make a statement the first time, it should be somewhere new the both of you will enjoy. A trip to another part of the city, perhaps... The beach is something I've thought of myself, as we don't have oceans where I'm from. So, tell me, do you have anything in mind from that?
no subject
not off the top of my head. we've been here a while so there aren't a ton of places we haven't seen yet or just gone
plus he's more than rather awkward
if he wasn't already dead I'd worry he'd embarrass himself to death whenever I try to hold his hand
no subject
Here, why don't we roleplay a bit. How would you bring it up?
no subject
and then tell him when and where we were going to eat
does it still count as a date if I never mention that word
does that make it not romantic anymore
no subject
Is he aware of this? It's hard to be certain! Perhaps that's why a clarifying date would be a good idea. That does require you having to use the word date, though. Why not simply ask "why don't we go on a date tonight?"
Or, in your case, "we're going on a date tonight" would work just as well.
no subject
but fine I'll use the word if I really have to
no subject
It seems difficult, but once it passes, you'll be grateful!
no subject
the last one we had almost killed me and I refuse to deal with any more feelings than I have to
no subject
no subject
do you really want to help?
you answered my first question and I think that gets you off the hook for the favor, if that's what you're worried about
